WIPO has announced that version 2.1.2 of its WIPO Sequence software will be available tomorrow (Wednesday August 3, 2022). You can see the announcement here. Here are action items for ST26 users:
- Download and install version 2.1.2 of the WIPO Sequence software. Use that version of the software henceforth. One way to do this is to launch the WIPO Sequence software and permit it to do an update which it will do automatically if you permit it to do so.
- Read each of the previous must-read articles (here and here and here) about ST26 if you have not already read them.
- If you have not already done so, carefully review each filing of a new patent application that you have done in any patent office since July 1, 2022 that has a sequence listing in the filing. This includes both PCT and non-PCT patent applications. Carry out a validation of the sequence listing that you uploaded as part of your patent application filing. If there was anything wrong about your sequence listing, take steps to figure out what to do about it.

- Subscribe to WIPO’s Sequence Updates mailing list if you have not already done so.
