Today is the day that the Brazilian industrial property office has added two more kinds of participation to its connections with the DAS system.
By way of background, Brazil’s first connection with the DAS system happened on December 1, 2017 (blog article) when it became a Depositing Office for national patent applications and (through RO/BR) for PCT applications. On April 1, 2018 it became an Accessing Office for national patent applications. On August 3, 2020 it became a Depositing Office for design applications and for trademark applications.
The big news is that today, the Brazilian industrial property office has added two more types of participation to its connection to the DAS system. It is now an Accessing Office for national design applications and (through the IB) for Hague design applications.
