Encouraging word from the vendor of the window regulator

Two days ago I griped about a vendor who sold me a window regulator that had a poor quality plastic part, and I complained to the vendor.  Today there is encouraging word from the vendor.  It looks like the vendor might take some corrective action.

It will be recalled (blog article and blog article) that I lost more than an hour having to repeatedly disassemble and reassemble my car door, due to a poor quality plastic part in a window regulator that I had purchased on Amazon.   Two days ago I complained to the vendor, not so much about money but rather out of the hope that the vendor would remedy the problem.  My hope was that future purchasers of this part would not face the same bad experience.

I am pleased to be able to report that I have heard back from the vendor and it looks like maybe they will indeed take some corrective action.  Here is what the vendor wrote to me today:

Please refer to the attachment. All stock products will be supplied with washers. Once sold out, we will terminate our partnership with the original supplier and select a new supplier to minimize such issues. Hope you have a nice day.

Attached are two photos, marked “before” and “after”.  Here are the photos:

Actions, of course, speak louder than words.  I don’t really have the time or energy to order up yet another of their window regulators to see whether they will actually do what they have promised to do.  But given that they went to the trouble to snap the photos, I hold out some guarded optimism that they will follow through as they say.

  1. Good luck to you. Nowadays, most of the stuff sold on Amazon is junk and copycat products from China. I don’t believe most of the good reviews so I always look at the bad reviews to see if there are issues that might be deal breakers. I never order “frequently returned” products.
