Helpful webinars about ePCT

Almost daily I will encounter some patent practitioner or patent firm or corporate patent department that uses PCT but that fails to make use of ePCT.  Of course when this happens I encourage the patent practitioner or patent firm or corporate patent department to start using ePCT.  I imagine this to be a bit like the dentist who encourages people to brush and floss, sometimes feeling discouraged with the realization that some will not follow the advice.  Now comes another series of webinars from WIPO explaining how to use ePCT.

The programs are provided as a set of three.  They are offered free of charge, other than the disadvantage for those in the Central, Mountain, and Pacific time zones of having to set an alarm clock and awaken pretty early in the morning to be able to attend.  The best way to make use of these programs will be to attend all three programs in sequence.  The programs are:

• Thursday, February 19, 2015.  General introduction to ePCT.  Join WIPO for a general introduction to ePCT, WIPO’s online system for the filing and management of ePCT applications.  Sign up.
• Tuesday, March 3, 2015.  ePCT-Filing.  Learn how to file PCT applications electronically using ePCT-Filing with the receiving Office of the International Bureau and other participating Offices.  Sign up.
• Tuesday, March 10, 2015.  ePCT actions.  Learn how to use ePCT actions to conduct PCT transactions with the International Bureau. Rule 92bis changes and the filing of Chapter II demands will be used as practical examples.  Sign up.

Each webinar will run from 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM Mountain Time, lasting one hour including a live interactive question and answer session.

If you use PCT, but do not use ePCT, you should attend all three webinars.  Even if you use ePCT a little, you should learn how to use all of the features of ePCT.  These webinars will help.
