Today is the big day for the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office and the WIPO DAS system. Starting today, the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office is a Depositing Office for every type of application for which it is possible to be a Depositing Office.
(It will be recalled that I blogged about this development on April 17, 2022 (blog article).) Here are types of applications that will be available through the DAS system:
- Turkish national industrial design applications
- Turkish national patent applications
- Turkish national trademark applications
- Turkish national utility model applications
- PCT international applications filed in the RO/TR
This offers a reminder that Turkey is one of the fifty-nine places where utility model protection (WIPO article) is available.
