Hello, dear readers.  I have just published three new articles about various home automation challenges and successes:

If you have comments on any of the three articles, please post them below.

  1. Hi – I am in the same situation with Legrand having roughly 25+ adorne switches and dimmers with RFLC technology (along with other Smart Home products). I am interested in transitioning everything over to Home Assistant. None of my Smart Home products are Matter enabled. Does this mean that eventually my Home Assistant setup will eventually become obsolete and I will need to switch all of my Smart Home products to Matter enabled products?

  2. With Legrand’s official announcement of end-of-support for all RFLC devices and cloud support, I’ll be going down the Home Assistant route myself.

It’s really a shame, as I think the adorne switches still remain strong contenders for the best aesthetics and ergonomics of any options out there. The pre-Netatmo generation of adorne wifi-ready dimmers and switches had the added advantage of being able to work without a neutral – perfect for my old home.

I actually bought a few of the Netatmo switches before realizing that they wouldn’t easily work with my home wiring.

Looking at the latest Legrand offerings, it appears the adorne catalog is a shadow of its “glory” days.
