USPTO’s Trademark Center frozen

Yesterday I sent a US trademark application to a client to review and e-sign.  Today came the email from Trademark Center telling me the client had e-signed it.  I was invited to click to pay the money.  So I clicked to pay the money.

For more than half an hour from now, I have been watching this screen that says “Please wait … Processing …”.  And the word “Processing” is in an animated GIF that signals that something is happening.

More than half an hour.

I guess Trademark Center is broken.

Of course I don’t dare use the back button or click “refresh”.  This would probably lead to my being charged the $2000 filing fee twice, and I would later have to spend $2000 worth of my time trying to get the Trademark Office to refund the duplicate charge.

One can of course sneak around the back to see stuff.  I launched a new Trademark Center window and clicked around in “drafts and docket” and then in “my trademarks”.  And my “processing” is listed but the “filing receipt view” button does not work.  The “actions view” tries to launch a TSDR deep link but that does not work reliably.
